  • Vineyard introduction
Chateau Flaunys is located in the southwest region of Saint-Emilion in Bordeaux. Close to Pomerol and Lalande de Pomerol, the planting area consists of 2 hectares of a single Merlot variety. The reddish-brown clay- iron ore sandstone geology, combined with the temperate marine climate and natural growth conditions, is very representative of the wineries of the Saint-Emilion region.

The soil is rich in irony sandy soil. The vines are 8 years old. When the grapes are ripe, they are traditionally hand-picked. The traditional techniques are used to hand-craft wine to express this rich land. The grapes in different blocks are placed in different large oak barrels, whereupon control temperature fermentation and ageing proceeds for 12 months. The technique includes the use of unique French oak barrels which are replaced with new barrels every year in the winery.

The delicate and elegant wine has a strong deep purple color; vanilla and semi-ripe berry flavors burst out from it, with a hint of cranberry and gooseberry, and the sweetness of roasted almonds. The charming aroma structure is complemented by delicate and harmonious Tannins. This wine is suitable accompaniment for foods such as veal, other delicate meats and soft cheese.
